Instructions and Selection Process Details

Requirement: ALAS Membership is required at the time of acceptance.

How It Works

1

Initial Review

Applications will be reviewed for completeness prior to being sent to the selection committee.

Applications found to be incomplete will not be forwarded.

Committee Selection

The selection committee will thoroughly evaluate all complete applications. Applicants selected by the committee will advance to the next level of the process.

Final Interviews

Qualified candidates may go to a final interview before the final selection is made.

If selected, finalists will interview with the selection committee in May/June 2026.

Program Requirements & Attendance

Please read the Selection Criteria, Selection Decision, Program Session Attendance and Dates, and Program Requirements carefully on the Academy’s Page.

Participants may be dropped from the program if absent for more than one session or if the participant is not fully committed to participate in this high-level and premier leadership program.

Application Attachments

Your completed application must be accompanied by the following three items:

Resume or Curriculum Vitae

Please provide your current professional Resume or CV detailing your educational and leadership experience.

Length Requirement: Should not exceed five (5) pages. Additional pages will be discarded.

Letter of Intent

This letter should specifically detail:

  • • Why you are interested in this program
  • • Your career goals
  • • Where you see yourself in 3-5 years
Length Requirement: No more than two (2) pages in length.

Letters of Reference

Please submit a total of three (3) letters of reference or recommendation.

Required Source: One letter must be from your superintendent or immediate supervisor expressing his/her support for you and your readiness to participate in this leadership program.
