Each year, the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) proudly honors outstanding leaders across the nation who are making a lasting impact in Latino educational leadership. Our “Of the Year” Awards recognize excellence, innovation, and unwavering dedication to equity in education.
How to Nominate
Nominations are open to dues paying ALAS members.
To apply for the Superintendent of the Year Award, select the “Superintendent” tab and fill out the application. For information on the Principal of the Year, Central Office Administrator of the Year, ALAS Advocacy Award, and State Affiliate of the Year Awards, navigate to the “Individual & State Affiliate” tab where you will be able to complete the application for those awards.

Honoring a district-level leader whose work has positively influenced policy, instruction, and student outcomes across multiple schools.ALAS Advocacy Award
Awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond in championing equity and leadership development for Latino educators and students.State Affiliate of the Year
Celebrating a standout ALAS state affiliate that has exemplified leadership, collaboration, and impact within their communities and state.Superintendent of the Year
Recognizing a visionary superintendent who has led systemic change, promoted inclusive leadership, and significantly advanced educational opportunities for all students.
