Upper Merion Area School District - Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

The Upper Merion Area School District (UMASD), located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is seeking an exceptional educational leader to be its next superintendent of schools. 
 
The UMASD Board of School Directors is seeking a well-qualified, inspiring, and innovative leader who focuses on students first, and has a strong academic background and experience managing an administrative team. Candidates should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, be able to demonstrate proactive decision-making and consensus building, have the ability to lead and direct multiple projects and teams, and have a proven track record with strategies that will prepare students to thrive in a diverse, multicultural world.
 
The Upper Merion Area School District is a richly diverse public school district in King of Prussia, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The UMASD has a student population that is over 54 percent diverse with more than 50 languages spoken. The UMASD comprises seven school buildings: one state-of-the-art newly built high school, one middle school, and five elementary schools. The student population for the entire district is approximately 4,500 students.  The UMASD has an annual budget of $130M and maintains the lowest millage rate in Montgomery County while boasting a Moody’s AAA rating.
 
The UMASD is offering a multiyear contract that features a regionally competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must possess a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility, and Central Administration experience is preferred. The target date for appointment is January 8, 2024.
