 This position is responsible for supervising and overseeing Teaching and Learning, Special Education and Student Services, Central Elementary Schools, Eastern Elementary Schools, Western Elementary Schools, Middle Schools and High Schools, management of all school programs and activities. This position has critical oversight responsibilities in the second largest school division in Virginia. Vital to the position is the ability to anticipate considerations for the instructional program, implement strong cycles of continuous improvement to ensure academic progress, fiscal management, and personnel systems necessary to support a growing population of nearly 90,000 students and 100 schools. This position performs work under the administrative direction of the Division Superintendent and in accordance with School Board Policies and State statutes and regulations

Essential Responsibilities Include:

∙ Providing advice, counsel and support to the Superintendent and Cabinet, Directors, Supervisors, and instructional personnel

∙ Organizing and directing assigned functions to achieve stated objectives

∙ Performing responsibility for school reviews and intervention plans
