Curriculum Associates is seeking an experienced, full-time Supervising Editor, Spanish Math to  join the Spanish editorial branch of our Access & Equity team. This position offers a highly  motivated professional the opportunity to combine editorial and management skills to assume a  lead role in taking projects from conceptualization to final product. 

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Director, Access & Equity and the Director,  ELL in all areas of teacher-led and digital Spanish mathematics curriculum development  including vendor management, editing content, reviewing for accuracy of content, creating  supporting materials (transadaptation guidelines, checklists), and supervising internal and  external editorial resources. 

The impact you will have: 

• Serve as editorial lead, developing components for our mathematics programs • Lead editorial staff, providing actionable feedback and keeping the students and teachers  using our products in mind while developing high quality content 

• Actively participate in product definition, lead portions of project planning, and actively  participate in working groups 

• Collaborate with editorial team and cross-functional teams to develop schedule,  workflow, communication, and resource plans that ensure high-quality content • Manage, train, and evaluate vendors, consultants, and internal staff regarding editorial  Spanish content development efforts 

• Create Ancillary Content as warranted 

• Identify potential project bottlenecks and offer creative solutions 

• Partner with project leads and editors to ensure that all components are closely aligned • Establish guidelines for accuracy, adherence to instructional design, and alignment to the  Common Core or other state standards 

• Review and provide feedback to writers and editors (both internal and external), ensuring  the quality and appropriateness of content with respect to grade and reading levels,  content accuracy, and pedagogical fidelity 

• Train and support writers and editors throughout all phases of assigned projects • Participate in focus groups with teachers and administrators 

• Develop and document transadaptation guidelines and checklists for vendors and internal  staff to ensure adherence to best practices 

• Work collaboratively with directors, managers, coordinators, and other staff • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining agreed upon schedules and  deliverables

Who we’re looking for:  

• 5 - 7 years in K-5 and/or 6-8 Mathematics educational publishing with experience  developing print and digital materials 

• Experience with transadaptation from English into Spanish following industry best  practices 

• Experience with managing Spanish transadaptation vendors including handling all  communication, hosting weekly meetings, and managing delivery schedules • Experience aligning content to K-8 mathematics standards 

• Biliteracy in Spanish/English 

• Knowledge of regional differences of Spanish 

• Familiarity with the tenets of Universal Principles of Design (preferred) • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Proven writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail 

• Strong analytical/critical thinking skills 

• Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team environment • Open to feedback and review 

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities 

Not required, though we'd love to see: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Education-related field (required); Master’s degree in  Education or a related assessment field 

• Teaching experience
