Essential Functions and Objectives:

Applies engineering principles, techniques and scientific methods in a specific area of expertise (building, construction, technology, etc.). Responsible for solving technical problems and discovering new ways to improve the districts systems, infrastructures, processes and operations. 

Designs, develops, and implements a complex blueprint to provide highly-complex, reliable, and scalable data systems to meet the organization's objectives and requirements. Analyzes organization's business requirements for database design, and executes changes to database as required. Lead the District's enterprise data strategy to aligning short term and long business objectives with the technology, processes, policy, and people. Oversee three primary domains of work including business alignment and delivery, technical design and execution, and process and policy structure. This role will also be responsible for reducing and/or controlling costs while increasing scalability and stability of the data environment. 

- Define tools, technology, and development approach that best meets organizational needs. Work with data operations on prototype support, operation coaching, and facilitating architecture design blueprints to operationally build a plan and action steps.

-  Focus on data quality solutions, frameworks, models for governance management, establishing business glossaries, and metadata management. Improve data management approaches and perform requirements gathering, develop concepts of operations, and establish initiative roadmaps.

- Establish strategies for data management functions, business cases, and enterprise technology solutions. This would include supporting initiatives in early phase efforts for district planning, vendor solutions and enterprise efficiencies.

- As a liaison role, ensure departments know where to turn to for data needs. Adapt and address existing data management, workflow, warehousing to integrate and interoperate between new and legacy solutions.

- Align requirements from senior and/or business leaders with changes to data platforms and architecture initiatives to ensure efficient and effective solutions for projects and operational needs.

- Manage ongoing development to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of requests to stakeholders. Manage/oversee the user experience including design standards for delivering data.

- Introduce new data community engagement models to create awareness of data that is available for use to schools, departments, and district leaders. Oversee the design and implementation of data architecture from source to warehouse, marts, analytics, and visualizations.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Seven (7) or more years of experience in Data Architecture and/or Data Governance is required.

- Experience and proficiency with G-Suite products and/or Project Management Software (e.g. Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc).

- Preferred experience with data analytics.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively in a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization, both orally and in writing.

- Ability to assess appropriate priorities and organize workload on multiple assignments.

- Ability to collaborate with others on challenging, time sensitive projects as a team player.

- Ability to work independently with minimal direction Preferred Change Management certification or experience Preferred Experience leading and implementing data governance.

- Preferred Change Management certification or experience.

- Preferred experience leading and implementing data governance.

- Preferred experience with Jia and Confluence.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree is required.

- Master’s Degree is preferred.
