Lane Education Service District  (aka Lane ESD) seeks an exceptional educational leader who will help continue to shape an inclusive organizational culture aligned with our equity-focused strategic plan. Serving as a member of the Superintendent’s executive team, our new Assistant Superintendent will play a vital role in ensuring high levels of collaboration amongst and between departments, effectively communicating with all stakeholders to prioritize services to children and their families, community partners, and our component school districts. They will be instrumental in helping Lane ESD ensure program resources and improvement efforts are aligned to meet our established commitments in our Local Service Plan (LSP).

The mission of education service districts is to respond to the unique needs of their local school districts and communities by offering a broad spectrum of solutions to achieve Oregon’s educational goal of equitable, high quality, cost-effective and locally responsive educational services to all students. Lane ESD serves over 52,000 students in 16 school districts in the Willamette valley. We partner with our school districts, Pre-K organizations, local community colleges and universities, and other community agencies to accomplish our vision of building a beloved community of learners while promoting a culture of respect, community engagement, and equity-mindedness for our staff.

Lane ESD is located in one of the nation’s great college towns:  Eugene, Oregon.  Located in the beautiful south Willamette Valley with easy access to the mountains or the coast, Eugene and its sister city, Springfield, offer a variety of indoor and outdoor opportunities for culture, recreation, fun and relaxation.  Eugene, also known as Track Town, USA, is home to the University of Oregon, Bushnell University, and Lane Community College.

Salary range is from $138,000 to $150,000 (2022-23 salary schedule) and bilingual/bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
