Champlain Valley School District

Champlain Valley School District is seeking an outstanding educator to serve as Director of Learning and Innovation for our PreK-12 system of approximately 4,000 students, 400+ faculty and six schools. Champlain Valley School District is a student-focused organization with a strong educational team and growth mindset.

This position will start July 1, 2022.

Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree
-Holds or is eligible for VT Teacher Licensure, with minimum 3 years experience
-Holds or is eligible for VT Administrator License, 2 or more years of administrative or campus principal experience preferred
-Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to plan, organize and implement a comprehensive, equitable and accessible, standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment program.
-Demonstrates strong understanding of the effective use of multiple sources of data to drive instructional practice and positively impacts student learning at the individual, school and district level.
-The ability to develop, support, facilitate, and assess sustained, focused professional learning opportunities.
-Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills
-Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Demonstrates strong and compassionate leadership

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Designs, coordinates, and monitors the development, implementation and evaluation of PreK-12 standards based curriculum.
-With CVSD Instructional coaches, will develop and evaluate the Know, Understand, and Do (K-U-Ds) curriculum planning documents for K-12
-With DEI Director, will review, align, and maintain the CVSD curriculum with the CVSD Equity Policy
-Manage state and federal grants
-Direct and oversee CVSD Instructional Coaches
-Oversee and guide work of Data Manager
-Direct ELL program
-Manage CVSD mentoring program and oversee Mentor Coordinators
-Organize, support and schedule cohesive and focused CVSD-wide professional development activities that include: in-service days, additional courses, trainings and workshop offerings as well as summer institutes
-Direct and support embedded coaching and leadership of Math and Literacy coordinators
-Promote, support and regularly revise CVSD Common Assessment System
-Promote, develop and provide training for on-going and expanded data practices
-With the data manager, begin creating dashboards for administrators and coaches to track student data across multiple platforms.
-Lead committees that further the growth and development of CVSD work such as implementation of standards and curriculum
-Lead and support implementation of Act 77 and Act 173
-Work with technology integrationists to advance meaningful tech integration in instructional practice
-Lead and support ongoing understanding and implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)
-Communicate with and participate collaboratively with leadership teams
-Meet and collaborate regularly with Director of Student Services, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Superintendent
-Assists in the development, implementation, evaluation of the district’s strategic plan
