The Collaborative for Regional Educational Services and Training (CREST Collaborative) Board of Directors invites well-qualified candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director.
CREST is seeking a dynamic educational leader with well-developed leadership, financial, and management skills to lead its special education collaborative. CREST provides special education programs for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home-based services, Medicaid reimbursement, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development services.
CREST At a Glance:
The collaborative serves 264 students from 64 districts in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
CREST employs approximately 312 full- and part-time, professional and support staff.
The Collaborative recently purchased a single-campus facility in Andover, Massachusetts, located near the intersection of Interstates 93 and 495.
The FY23 budget is $22,828,006.
CREST is governed by a Board of Directors composed of superintendents and/or school committee members from its sixteen (16) member districts.
CREST, a regional non-profit organization, was founded in 1974. The mission of CREST is to empower all learners by maximizing strengths, removing barriers, forming relationships, and seeking innovative solutions to create a lasting positive impact into their adult lives, and equipping them with tools to succeed in a safe and supportive learning environment and within the greater community. CREST is organized according to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 40, Section 4e as recently amended and 501(c)(3) federal regulations for public, non-profit organizations.
Desired Competencies of the Executive Director:
Demonstrates proven leadership as a senior central office administrator, collaborative administrator, or human services non-profit executive
Is a strong financial leader
Is an innovator with vision and an entrepreneurial spirit
Embraces change as a constant dynamic
Possesses excellent interpersonal, public relations, organizational and communication skills
Promotes trust and confidence through integrity-based leadership
Has a collaborative style which encourages team effort among staff and all major stakeholders and is able to develop inter-organizational partnerships
Demonstrates skill in creating and nurturing positive and constructive relationships with all stakeholders
Is a well-informed instructional leader who can examine educational trends, conceptualize and provide big-picture analysis in order to engage district personnel in the development of meaningful programs and services
Qualifications:
The new Executive Director should possess a Masters degree or higher
Experience as a superintendent and/or collaborative executive director is preferred
Extensive experience as a leader in a human service-related non-profit organization
Possess or be able to possess Massachusetts licensure as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Special Education Administrator or Director of Pupil Personnel
The CREST Board of Directors intends to offer a multi-year contract with a regionally competitive salary plus benefits, commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as membership in the Massachusetts Teacher Retirement System.
Screening of applications will begin shortly after the application deadline of April 28, 2023. Ideally, the new Executive Director will be appointed and will begin work on or about July 1, 2023.
