First 5 California is seeking an Executive Director.
First 5 California is seeking an experienced and equity-minded leader to serve as its next Executive Director. The expected start date is March 2022. The Executive Director leads a team and is the chief executive officer of a statewide Commission established and funded by Proposition 10 – the California Children and Families Act of 1998 (the Act) passed by the voters. The Executive Director carries specific authority set by statute and the bylaws of the Commission and has a key role working with the Commission to define its strategic goals and funding priorities. The position requires someone who would be a visionary, entrepreneurial, creative and an outstanding spokesperson not only for First 5 California but for children and families overall. In doing so, the Executive Director will design, implement, and evaluate programs and policies toward meeting stated goals, in furtherance of the Act and the Commission’s mission and vision.
