The Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD) is seeking an educational and community leader to be its next Superintendent of Schools. The Board desires an innovative thinker who has a strong academic background, a track record of developing educational excellence, and experience leading an administrative team. Candidates should demonstrate excellent skills in communication, stewardship, change agency, and community partnership. The candidate must be able to evaluate, lead and direct the services required for KCSD’s public education mission, and champion the delivery of education to a diverse student population.
Located in historic and beautiful Chester County, the Kennett Consolidated School District covers a geographical area of nearly 35 square miles and is in the southeastern part of the county. The district is centered in the borough of Kennett Square and incorporates Kennett Township, New Garden Township, and the southern portion of East Marlborough Township. The district operates six schools serving 3,900 students: Greenwood Elementary, Bancroft Elementary, Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center, New Garden Elementary, Kennett Middle School and Kennett High School. KCSD has a bilingual student body, with nearly half of its students speaking Spanish.
KCSD is offering a multiyear contract that features a regionally competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must possess, or be eligible for, a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. The target date for employment is August 1, 2024, or such date as the search process allows. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2024, and the review process and interviews will begin shortly thereafter.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
PA Letter of Eligibility or the ability to acquire prior to start date
Doctorate preferred
Prior superintendent experience preferred
Prior District office experience preferred
COMPENSATION
A regionally competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate. Initial salary will be adjusted based on qualifications and prior experience and may range from $245,000 to $290,000 annually.
