The LEONIA PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Superintendent of Schools. The district serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade and comprises three schools, Anna C. Scott Elementary School with 600 students in grades Pre-K–4, Leonia Middle School with 650 students in grades 5–8 and Leonia High School with 860 students in grades 9–12. Students from Edgewater, NJ attend the district's schools for grades 7–12 as part of a send/receive relationship.The district provides quality educational services to a diverse high-performing student population with an exceptionally rich cultural identity.
The Board of Education is seeking someone who:
Is an experienced educational leader with a proven record of collaboration with staff and community, who supports the principles of continuous improvement and has a willingness to make a long term commitment to Leonia;
Is an excellent and proactive communicator who values the frequent engagement and use of multiple platforms to listen, learn, and inform while keeping staff, families, students, and community continuously engaged;
Possesses a sophisticated understanding of teaching and learning and promotes the importance of continuous improvement utilizing strategic planning and a systems approach to ensure high levels of performance;
Is a school leader who understands the needs of a diverse community that is very involved.
