School District of Manatee County - Manatee County, Florida

The School District of Manatee County is one of the 100-largest school districts in the nation with more than 52,000 students and is Manatee County’s largest employer with more than 6,000 employees. Manatee County is located on the southwest tip of Tampa Bay, within an hour’s drive of Tampa and St. Petersburg, and is famous for its more than 25 miles of some of the world’s most beautiful and relaxing beaches. The School Board is seeking a new superintendent to replace the current superintendent who is retiring at the end of this school year after serving 30-plus years in education.

The Manatee District contains 47 traditional public schools, two K-8 schools, 14 charter schools and nationally renowned Manatee Technical College.
