Novi Community School District
Novi Community School District is a very highly regarded and outstanding academically achieving school district located in Oakland County, Michigan. NCSD has been rated the No. 1 public school district in the State of Michigan in 2020 and 2021 and is currently ranked second in 2022. Each school within the district was also highly rated, some being first by Niche, and several were named Blue Ribbon Schools as well. In addition, NCSD was featured by WXYZ Channel 7 in Detroit as one of “The Best Schools in Michigan.”
Novi Community School District is an AdvancEd/Cognia Accredited School District. It provides a multitude of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities to meet the needs and interests of every student, including K-12 STEM experiences, a 6th grade Robotics curriculum rated first in North and South America, five high school world languages, and award-winning programs in art, athletics, band, career and technical education, choir, theatre, debate, fine arts, journalism and radio and television and a multitude of other engaging and cultural clubs. Students have the opportunity to graduate from NCSD with an AP Capstone Diploma or an IB Diploma.
The average total score for the 2019 SAT among 467 juniors at Novi High School was 1206, with an average math sub score of 618 and an average English language arts sub score of 588. Based on SAT scores, 74% tested as fully college ready. Students are proud of their educational excellence, leadership abilities and their focus on social and emotional wellness.

Novi Community School District’s 6,940 students are educated in one senior high school, one 7-8 middle school, one 5-6 upper elementary school, and five K-4 elementary schools. Educational services are also provided via the Early Childhood Educational Center (ECEC), Adult Recovery Center (ROAR Center), Career Prep High School, and Novi Virtual. The district employs 922 staff members, including 444 teachers and 42 administrative staff members. It has an annual operating budget of $92 million, with a foundation allowance of $8,948 per pupil and a fund balance projected at $14 million. The district proudly has a sinking fund, a recreational bond fund and a capital projects bond for facility improvements.

Qualifications
Educational administration experience required; central administration experience preferred
Master’s degree in related field required, advanced degree (i.e., Ed.S., Ed.D., Ph.D.) preferred
Demonstrative, Successful, School District Experience necessary
Broad and diversified experience in education with classroom experience preferred
Michigan Administrative Certificate or equivalent required

Salary and contract information
The board of education will offer a comprehensive, multi-year contract. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate, with a salary range of $210,000-$220,000.

This superintendent search will be conducted with due regard to the Michigan open meetings act (public act 267 of 1976) requirement of open meetings for all public body deliberations, decisions, and interviews.
The services of the Michigan leadership institute have been secured to assist the Novi Community School District’s Board of Education in the search process and in the screening of candidates.
