Huntington Union Free School District #3, Suffolk County, New York

The Huntington School District is located in Suffolk County, New York. The district is culturally diverse and encompasses parts of Huntington, Huntington Station, Huntington Bay, and Halesite.

Approximately 4,130 students are educated in The Huntington School District #3, grades Kindergarten-12, and 162 students in their Universal Pre-K program. There are eight schools in the district, four primary schools, a STEM Magnet School, an Intermediate School, a Middle School, and a High School. They seek an experienced educator/ administrator who possesses strong interpersonal skills, who will communicate with all segments of the district, and who is “visionarily decisive.”

The candidate must be a role model and mentor that continues to strengthen the “district’s traditions, its history of community support, the diversity of its population, and its commitment to educational excellence.” In addition, this person needs to help all students with their achievement goals, be respectful and inclusive, have strong knowledge of the Spanish language, and embrace all of the many cultural, social, and academic opportunities this community has to offer.

Candidates must possess or be eligible for New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or New York State School District Leader (SDL) certification.
