The Board of Education for Walled Lake Consolidated Schools is in search of a new superintendent.

Walled Lake is a city in Oakland County, Michigan. The city is bordered by White Lake on the north and the city of Novi on the south. As a western suburb of Metro Detroit, Walled Lake is about 20 miles northwest of Detroit.

The Walled Lake Consolidated School District has its headquarters in the Educational Services Center in Walled Lake, Michigan and its service area includes all or portions of the cities of Farmington Hills, Novi, Orchard Lake, Walled Lake and Wixom, the townships of Commerce, West Bloomfield and White Lake, and the village of Wolverine Lake.

The Walled Lake Schools’ community:

  • Supports its 19 schools. For four consecutive elections (2012, 2013, 2014 & 2019), the community supported local funding for Walled Lake Schools including a $316 million bond for Building, Infrastructure & Equity initiatives.

  • Walks the talk with 80 percent of our staff earning advanced degrees.

  • Boasts the three award-winning high school marching bands that annually rank as the best in the state and nation. The WLC band participated in the Macy’s Day Parade in New York City on Thanksgiving Day, while the WLN band participated in the London New Year's Day Parade in London, England. In 2020 both WLC & WLN will perform at Disney World in Florida.

  • Communicates with parents on a daily basis via social media, (Twitter - @WalledLkSchools, Facebook – www.facebook.com/wlcsd, Instagram - www.instagram.com/walledlkschools and at YouTube – www.youtube.com/walledlkschools) and sends weekly WLCSD Parent Updates.

Shares our resources with the entire community. The District hosts a “Pink Out” football game each year to support those battling all cancers raising thousands of dollars each year. As well our schools help the local food bank, Hospitality House, and more than 20 charities including the Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, St. Baldrick’s, the American Heart Association, and others.

Salary and Contract Information

The Board will offer a comprehensive, multi-year contract. Compensation will be commensurate with experience of the successful candidate and requirements of the position. A preliminary salary range of $200,000 to $225,000 has been established.
