The Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative (LPVEC) Board of Directors invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director.

LPVEC is located in the greater Springfield area in western Massachusetts and serves the school districts located in Agawam, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Hampden-Wilbraham, Ludlow, Southwick-Tolland-Granville, and West Springfield.  

The LPVEC mission statement: 

“To Achieve Skills for Personal and Professional Success”.

LPVEC is committed to serving both the continuing and the changing needs of its member school districts.  The agency’s purpose is to increase the capacity of school districts and support the success of all students by providing high-quality, shared programs and services in a cost-effective manner.  Although the primary responsibility of LPVEC is to serve their member districts, many of their offerings are also open to other districts and municipalities. The collaborative currently provides educational programs and services to approximately 650 students throughout the region.  Programs and services are sustained by approximately 390 employees and supported by an annual budget of $27 million.

The Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative works in three main areas:

Education Programs

  • Career and Technical Education (CTEC)

  • Special Alternative Education

Business Programs

  • School Transportation

  • Municipal Medicaid Reimbursement

  • Energy Group Purchasing

Educator Support

  • Curriculum Instruction and Assessment

  • Job-Alike Groups

  • DESE State System of Support (SSoS)

  • Research and Development

The LPVEC Board of Directors seeks a highly qualified educational leader for the position of Executive Director. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an individual with experience in and appreciation for diverse learning environments, who has excellent human relations skills and a demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of regional public school collaboration.  In addition to managing the educational programs, the new Executive Director will need to have the skills to effectively lead a team of professionals in the support and enhancement of the LPVEC’s mission. 

The LPVEC Board of Directors is prepared to offer a multi-year contract with a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. Screening of applications will begin shortly after the application deadline of May 1, 2023. Ideally, the new Executive Director will be appointed and will begin work on July 1, 2023.
