Employment type: Full- Time

Length of Work Year: 12 months/ 225 days per year, this is a multi-year contracted position

Salary: $222,164- $225,132 annually; Health benefits for employee and/or family (monthly cap $1000); Dental/Vision for employee and/or family (fully covered); Term Life Insurance- $ 75,000

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Superintendent, or designee, the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources oversees, directs, coordinates and administers all aspects of human resource services in the District and serves as a member of the Executive Cabinet team. The Assistant Superintendent ensures that districts personnel are appropriately supported, guided and accountable to ensure all students in the District are provided with equitable educational outcomes.

SMFCSD seeks a leader who addresses the recruitment and retention of staff that represents diverse student groups. SMFCSD seeks to increase staff diversity that reflects the demographics, spoken languages and desired culturally- proficient mental models of students and families in the district and support the staffing to prevent attrition and encourage leadership building capacity.

Requirements/ Qualifications

  • Administrative Services credential for certificated personnel

  • District Office experience in Human Resources

  • Experience as a site level administrator

  • Coursework or training in Human Resources

  • Spanish bilingual desirable

The San Mateo-Foster City School district operates 22 elementary and middle schools with approximately 12,500 students. The district serves a total population of over 100,000 in the cities of San Mateo and Foster City. The district is located on the San Francisco peninsula, 19 miles south of San Francisco just north of the Silicon Valley. Its mild climate and ideal location make it an attractive place in which to live and work. Primarily residential . San Mateo and Foster City are community-minded cities with a reputation for excellent elementary and middle schools.
