Superintendent
The Bronxville Union Free School District, one of our nation’s most highly-regarded and innovative public school districts, is extending its search for a Superintendent of Schools, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible but no later than January 13, 2023. Bronxville, in southern Westchester County, is a one square mile community proximal to the business, cultural, and recreational opportunities offered in New York City.
The district is unique in that its three schools are located within one facility, The Bronxville School. Its 1,565 students are motivated and high performing, educated by an enlightened faculty and staff, supported by involved parents, an engaged community, PTA, and a strong Bronxville School Foundation. The Bronxville School is governed by a supportive Board of Education, and all Board of Education candidates are screened by a community nominating committee.
The Board of Education is seeking a leader who can build upon the district’s many accomplishments and take it to its next level of excellence. Much of the Bronxville School’s recent work has been structured around the Bronxville Promise, which embraces and focuses on innovation, leadership, critical thinking, and engagement with the larger world.

Following significant staff and community engagement, the Bronxville Board of Education has approved the following specifications for its search for a new Superintendent.
The successful candidate will be:
An experienced educational leader with a proven record of collaboration with staff and community, who supports the principles embedded in the Bronxville Promise and is committed to taking it to the next level;
A visionary, transparent, and honest leader who inspires academic excellence and innovation, and promotes high expectations for student and staff success and well-being;
An excellent and proactive communicator who welcomes using multiple platforms to listen, learn, and inform while keeping staff, parents, students, and community continuously engaged;
A skilled and adaptive manager who responds effectively to challenging situations, understands school finance, facilities, and taxation matters, and rallies and unites staff and community members around creative solutions;
A centered, balanced, objective thinker who has a record of building productive relationships and is excited to lead the Bronxville educational community into the next decade.
Eligibility for New York State licensing as a School District Administrator or School District Leader is required. A highly-competitive compensation package will be offered.
