The Frederick County School Board in Winchester, Virginia, is seeking an outstanding educational leader with a strong commitment to serving all students and their families to become the next Superintendent of Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). The Division
Located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and a short drive to the beach, mountains and Washington, D.C., Frederick County is one of the fastest growing counties in Virginia. Frederick County Public Schools is a high-performing school division which is the 18th largest of 132 school districts in Virginia. FCPS serves about 14,000 students, employs approximately 2,400 high- quality staff members and is guided by its strategic plan- Inspire 2025: A Promise for Progress (www.inspire2025.net). The school division includes 12 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools and two instructional centers. The application file must include a letter indicating the reasons for interest in the position, a current resume and three letters of reference. Candidates must send these materials electronically with the online BWP Applicant Data Form. Official transcripts will be required from candidates who are invited to interview with the School Board.
The salary and benefits for the successful candidate will be competitive and negotiated with the School Board upon proven experience, qualifications, and fulfillment of school board criteria.
Applicants are required to hold or provide evidence of eligibility for the Virginia Division Superintendent License and/or relevant experience that would lead to such. Candidates are encouraged to obtain information about requirements for licensure from the Virginia Department of Education at www.doe.virginia.gov.

Letters of interest and other required materials must be received by BWP & Associates no later than November 28, 2022. The Board expects to finalize the search by Spring 2023. The new superintendent will officially assume this position in Spring 2023.
