The Liverpool Central School District, Liverpool, New York, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2022.
McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.
Enrollment: 6,700
Location: 150 miles northwest of Albany, 80 miles east of Rochester
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make.
Strong Leader – The district seeks a passionate, positive, and progressive educational leader with demonstrated success of high student achievement. They must have knowledge of current research and best practices specific to curriculum, instruction, and evaluation. They must possess excellent team building skills, be able to mentor, and develop others in the district They must be an effective collaborative facilitator of all District stakeholders.
Visionary – The leader must be able to collaboratively facilitate the development of a clear-vision and an implementation plan for the district based on a strong understanding of upstate NY schools, evolving demographics, the culture of our district, and the changing needs of our students, staff and community.
Communication – The superintendent must maintain positive, open, and transparent communication with the board, district staff, students and community members. They will be expected to be transparent, highly visible, and able to build strong working relationships with employees, legislators, educational organizations, and local businesses.
Management – The district desires an energetic, detail-oriented individual who can manage district resources efficiently and effectively, is fiscally responsible, and ideally has facility planning skills. They must be a consistent research-based decision maker and be firm, fair and friendly with all constituents. They must understand the challenges that face NY districts (enrollment, evolving mandates, and unsure times) and implement innovative strategies that continues to develop our student focused beliefs.
