Willingboro Township Public Schools

Located in Burlington County, NJ, the Township of Willingboro encompasses 7.8 square miles and is bordered by Route 130 on the North, Rancocas Creek on the west, Westampton Township on the south, and Burlington Township on the east.

Willingboro is an excellent place to find attractive, well maintained, reasonably priced homes with effortless connections to Philadelphia and New York City.

With a population of over 30,000 residents, the township is comprised of twelve sections, also known as "parks". Together, the parks contain 10,994 single-family homes, 763 townhouses, and one senior housing complex. Additionally, Willingboro has two new apartment complexes and several pre-Levitt homes.

Known for its natural beauty and mature trees, Willingboro maintains more than 178 acres of recreational park space: Millcreek Park, Broido Park, Fairmount Park, and Crystal Lake (which is stocked by New Jersey Fish and Game and is open to the public for fishing). Additionally, the township's Willingboro Lakes Nature Preserve contains two lakes, which is home to a diverse population of fish, birds, and small animals.

180 miles of sidewalks and 110 miles of streets in residential areas. The population of Willingboro is approximately 34,000. There are 10,994 single-family homes, divided among twelve sections of the town and 763 townhouses concentrated in two areas, one senior housing complex containing 104 apartments, an apartment complex at the Town Center, and 166 commercial buildings.

Willingboro has one high school, one upper elementary school, one middle school, one alternative school and five elementary schools.  Willingboro Township Public Schools serves 3,400 students, approximately.  Students in this urban/suburban district have varied interests and pursuits but take exceptional pride in their athletics and athletic programs.  The Olympian, Carl Lewis is a native and one of its esteemed champions and name’s sake of the high school stadium.  Although challenged in some cases by circumstances beyond individual control, Willingboro residents value education and many parents and guardians actively contribute to and support education especially in their neighborhood elementary schools.  The launch of Willingboro’s preschool program is also a testimony to the community’s and district’s commitment to education.

Willingboro Township Public Schools seek an exceptional educational leader committed to turnaround and transformation of minority students in an urban/suburban education system.  Additionally, the Board desires an inspirational and innovative leader ready to address the challenges of post-pandemic morale and learning loss.  

Specific desired leadership characteristics and qualifications are expected to be available and posted on or around May 11, 2022. Candidates must possess the NJ Department of Education School Administrators Certification Letter of Eligibility or be immediately eligible to obtain the same.  A multi-year contract will be offered with a salary in the range of $210,000 per annum subject to negotiations, based on actual qualifications and experience.
