The Upper Arlington Board of Education in Ohio seeks a dynamic, exemplary educational leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Schools. Upper Arlington is an attractive, welcoming suburb just north of Columbus, which is a thriving city and home to The Ohio State University, a valuable district partner. This PK-12 district educates approximately 6,300 students in five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, an early childhood center, and an online academy. The facilities are superlative with a newly built high school and all five elementary schools being either new or significantly renovated. Upper Arlington is a lighthouse district in Ohio and the nation with high quality academic programs, exceptionally talented students, dedicated and caring staff, and innovative programs designed to meet the individual needs of all students. Students consistently earn honors in national, regional, and statewide competitions in the visual and performing arts, athletics, mathematics, science, computer science, robotics, writing, speech debate, global languages, and much more. Upper Arlington High School leads the state in the combined percentage of students taking Advance Placement and International Baccalaureate courses.

Minimally, applicants must have multi-year, successful executive level educational leadership experiences in an organization of comparable complexity, size, and scope. Recent and relevant successful experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives similar to those found in the District’s Strategic Plan and Listen, Learn, and Lead report is important. Sustaining district strengths while strengthening the educational success and growth of all students will be an essential task for the next leader. Experience in communities with similar educational values, expectations and demographics is highly desirable. Candidates must possess or be immediately eligible for an Ohio Superintendents license to supervise grades PK – 12.
A multi-year contract will be offered with a salary range regionally competitive, based on actual qualifications, experience, and negotiations.
